Tesla is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Business Operations team as a cross-functional Design Manager/Business Operations Specialist, supporting the Infrastructure Engineering group at Gigafactory Nevada. This role involves driving the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure projects by managing documentation and ensuring efficient processes from design through project closeout. The successful candidate will oversee document control systems across sites, establish standards, support reporting, and provide training to internal and external teams. With a strong background in engineering, construction, manufacturing, and project management, the ideal candidate will lead multidisciplinary projects, ensuring collaboration between Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, and Production teams to align goals with company priorities. This position demands exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable plans while managing schedules, budgets, and resources in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Act as the central contact for document control, ensuring sub-contractors and suppliers comply with Tesla's document management systemProcess and review documents such as submittals, drawings, calculations, and engineering data while maintaining a compliant and organized document registerCreate, manage, and facilitate the approval of project documents, ensuring all project correspondence is properly maintainedProvide training to new team members during onboarding and support Contracts and Procurement teams in document management tasksMaintain weekly reports and logs to track open workflows, mail items, submittals, and other key documentsCollaborate with sub-contractors and suppliers during contract closeout to ensure all required documents are received before retention payments are releasedOversee document control resources for engineering and construction projects while adapting to additional support requests based on project needRequirements
Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction or relevant Industry experienceAconex experience strongly preferredAdvanced MS Excel skillsProficiency in Microsoft office suitDetail-oriented with exceptional organizational skillsDemonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environmentInnovative, Open-minded, collaborative, and a team-oriented attitudeCompensation and BenefitsBenefits
