Urologist in Reno, NV!VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System is looking for a Staff Urologist to serve Veterans. VA Reno offers a full range of medical and ancillary services including primary care, audiology, cardiology, chiropractic, compensation & pension exams, dental, gastroenterology, infectious disease, laboratory, mental health, nutrition, occupational therapy, ophthalmology, optical shop, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, podiatry, primary care, radiology, social work, urgent care, urology, and women's health. The clinic offers pre- and post-operative telemedicine surgical services, including general and vascular surgery, nephrology, and orthopedics. In addition, the clinic provides care to veterans in rural areas via a mobile health clinic.The physician is accountable to the Chief, Urology under the Surgical Services Department and is responsible for managing the most effective delivery of state-of-the-art urological care, including urology consult/referral review and triage, coordination of urology clinics using the principles of advanced clinical access, pre-operative assessment, operative intervention and post-operative care, and involvement in contracting with local facilities. He/she participates in all aspects of the general urology program, including the following: provide urological outpatient care (invasive and noninvasive) to all scheduled and walk-in patients, inform patients (and/guardians, caretakers, and family members when appropriate) with alternative treatment and diagnostic modes and the risks and benefits of each. The incumbent will provide pre-operative evaluation of each patient scheduled for elective or emergency surgery. Additionally, responsible for providing the patient with risks, benefits, and alternative treatments and obtaining informed consent from the patient or guardian before conducting invasive procedures. He/she is responsible for encouraging family members or members/guardians to be involved with the patients' care, performing invasive procedures; cystoscopies (with intra-urethral topical anesthetic), vasectomies, circumcisions, infrared coagulation and/excision of genital lesions, urethral meatotomies, and dorsal slits (with local anesthetic), and assume total responsibility for all perioperative care for assigned patients.d Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Position Eligible EDRP Authorized: Contact Susan Bringel., the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance Candidates must: 1) be a US citizen or PRA (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with [38 U.S.C. 7407(a)]; 2) possess a current, full, unrestricted medical license in any state, 3) board prepared/certified in Urology, and 4) and confirm vaccination for seasonal influenza.Pay:
