The Clinical Research Physical Therapist participates in clinical research in patients with neurological disorders. Responsibilities may include implementing interventions, conducting assessments, data collection, administering informed consents, subject recruitment, data management, assisting with IRB proposals/amendments, and contributing to presentations and manuscripts. Participation in research activities with an interdisciplinary team of collaborators is also central to this position. Additionally, the position involves participation in clinical practice related to the physical therapy examination and treatment of patients with neurological disorders. Outreach activities to patients and engagement in educational and mentoring activities with residents and physical therapy students are also integral to the position.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Participation in clinical research in patients with neurological disorders: data collection and management related to the conduct of clinical trials.
Examination and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
Participation in educational activities for healthcare professionals and patients with neurological disorders.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Clinical Doctoral degree (DPT), Massachusetts Physical Therapist license, and five to eight years of physical therapist experience.
Residency training and/or board certified specialist in Neurological Physical Therapy preferred.
Research experience also preferred.
Some physical demands required including vision/hearing, some heavy lifting, some extensive standing) and environmental demands (often patient care).
