Responsibilities
The Release Manager will play an integral role in implementing and executing Abbott Diabetes Care Mobile release processes
The role supports ADC’s engineering helping drive the continuous integration/deployment process to production mobile application stores
The Release Manager will ensure that new software is released in a streamlined manner from development to production
As a Release Manager you'll use your strong technical ability to drive product releases across many different systems and teams, and ensure that ADC’s products are delivered with a repeatable and scalable process
Own, manage and improve our mobile application release process through innovation and automation
Focus on scale and efficiency
Support Operations team in production deployments across the globe
Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to measure the success of each release
Presenting release performance against expectations and future best practices to the management team
Develop, manage, and communicate the mobile release calendar, coordinating timelines with all relevant teams.
Own end-to-end release process for iOS and Android apps, including builds, deployments, and approvals.
Facilitate release readiness reviews, status updates, and retrospectives with technical and non-technical teams
Monitor and ensure the successful deployment of mobile apps, overseeing any emergency or hotfix releases
Collaborate with Mobile DevOps to ensure configuration for Release Candidate(s) are accurate and sufficient
Troubleshoot and seolves technical issues in the release pipeline, working closely with Development, Mobile DevOps, and Test
Maintain a deep understanding of app store guidelines, requirements, and submission processes for Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Collaborate with Mobile SRE team to monitor post-release, coordinating with developers to quickly address issues. Clearly communicate release scope, status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
Foster a collaborative and transparent environment, encouraging open feedback and continuous improvement.
Support management of release calendar, release notes, documentation, and communication plans with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead meta data and artifact gathering and artifact review for the app stores
Required Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience managing multiple projects and/or release management programs
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant field
Software development experience, ideally in a global mobile application release management setting
In-depth understanding of mobile application app stores and their processes
Eagerness to contribute beyond experience level
Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team
Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
Experience with open-source, software development and system engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a regulated industry or medical device field.
Experience working in an agile environment.
Experience using external or internal tooling to support delivering mobile applications to various app stores.
The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
