The Senior Category Manager is responsible for the company-wide category management of a specific category of spare parts/services for solar, and energy storage electric generating facilities.
Responsibilities:
Develop a category Strategy that includes the parts and services associated with installing the parts for the RWECE business encompassing onshore, and offshore wind farms Solar, and storage farms in the Americas
The focus shall be to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for parts
Ensure compliance with Procurement policy and processes
Ensure interfaces with Key internal stakeholders to optimize the cost & efficiencies of each operational site
Develop appropriate category and sub-category plans
Drive negotiations to the point of contract award with the technical / asset management teams.
Build and maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure that their performance consistently meets, and at times exceeds, business expectations
Develop strong and effective internal relationships with all levels of the business to ensure that business requirements are reflected within contractual documentation
Supplier management, negotiations for key contracts, and claim management/negotiations with key suppliers
Track and ensure achievement of forecasted value and savings targets including productivity plans with suppliers
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. A postgraduate degree in supply chain is preferred, with extensive work experience in procurement. An engineering degree will be an advantage.
Minimum 12 years of work experience preferred with minimum 3 years in a managerial role.
Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts Fluent English speaker. German or other language skills would be an advantage.
Willingness to travel in North America and Europe as required.
Good problem-identification and solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at a high level with internal and external decision-makers.
Ability to influence people and decisions to drive high performance and result orientation
