We are looking for an Investment Accountant to play a pivotal role in the execution of Investments accounting, closing, and reporting!
Please Note: We have two openings for this posting, Investment Accountant (Associate) and Senior Investment Accountant (Assistant Vice President).
About the Role
Swiss Re Group has adopted the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as of 1/1/2024 and you have an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the new accounting standard. Swiss Re is also underway with the migration of US Regulatory reporting onto a new sub-ledger accounting system that supports the business and harmonizes the financial closing process.
You will ensure delivery of accurate financial information timely, achieved through close collaboration and engagement with teams across multiple locations. The roles also require flexibility and desire for new tasks and challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop a strong understanding of data flow, system landscapes and system interactions impacting accounting transactions under relevant valuations to ensure a smooth flow of information through the accounting & reporting life cycleExecute the sub-ledger accounting, closing, and reporting of Investments to ensure delivery of accurate financial information timely, across all legal entities and accounting valuationsLiaise with Project teams (locally and internationally) to proactively communicate and resolve any issues uncovered in testing or go-live environmentsFacilitate high collaboration with Group Functions (Asset Management, Tax, Risk, Treasury, Group Finance) and other teams for delivery of reporting that meets the needs of all stakeholdersUnderstand the control framework(s) to meet all internal and external audit requirementsAssociate

Perform substantiation & resolution of data quality errors for all investment products.Contribution to team initiatives and projects efficientlyAssistant Vice President

University degree with emphasis in Accounting and/or FinanceUnderstanding of multi-valuation concept (US GAAP, US Regulatory, IFRS, Tax Reporting)Associate : Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 1-2 years have been in the area of investmentsAssistant Vice President : Minimum 4-7 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 4-5 years have been in the area of investments and solid financial acumenDetail-oriented, with high level of interest in learning new technologies and tools to analyze large volumes of dataStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong computer/office tool skills, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with data analytic tools like Power BI/Power Query is a plusAssistant Vice President : Expected to possess existing ability, based on experience, to interact with all levels within the organization.

Global Investment Reporting (GIR) is part of Group Finance and has ownership of sub-ledger accounting for investments including all valuations and related reporting deliverables. As a member of the GIR Team in the Americas region, the successful Associate candidate will have a solid general understanding of investment products and will strongly contribute in providing the accounting, reporting and analyses across all relevant valuations within Swiss Re.
The successful Assistant Vice President candidate will have extensive knowledge of investment products and will act as a subject matter expert in providing accounting, reporting and analyses across all relevant valuations within Swiss Re.
