Job Description
Title - Gen AI Application Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Develop back-end-python application code as part of a retrieval augmented generation (RAG) system Plan the technical design of new features to improve the accuracy efficiency and useability of the application
Develop reports based on application logs that will monitor the accuracy and performance of the RAG system Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance of various prompting techniques search enhancements and various other system configurations
Required Knowledge:
Strong ability to code in python without the need for coding assistants.
Must understand how to write application code not just notebook code.
Understanding of cloud services (Azure preferrable) such as Azure Functions Azure Cognitive Search cloud storage API concepts Strong understanding of NLP and text processing
Strong understanding of search optimization techniques
Exposure to large language models
Key Talents Focus:
The ability to take on a complex task and remain focused and determined through roadblocks and obstacles is critical.
The person who fills this role will be required to independently solve problems with limited assistance.
They must be motivated to drive a solution to completion.
Conscientiousness: it is critical the person who fills this role takes in upon themselves to ensure that their code is high quality.
The person must be pro-active in stress-testing their own work to find bugs.
They must be forthcoming with issues and put in the extra effort to overcome them when necessary.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years in python back-end development 3+ years in data analytics and data science using python and SQL
Experience working with cloud infrastructure 2+ years experience working with search and AI applications
