This role is with a fast-growing company in the CPG industry, specializing in the production and distribution of food products, with a focus on quality and innovation. They offer a wide range of food items, including canned goods, frozen foods, and snacks. Located near Humboldt Park, IL, they are now looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to their growing team! In this position you will be exposed to various areas within the overall accounting operations. You will play a pivotal role in the month-end close process, assist with the budget process, help develop product costs for potential new products, and assist in the analysis of inventory and monthly production variances.
Job Description
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
Process payroll and manage monthly accrual entriesOversee periodic reporting to lendersReconcile general ledger accounts with monthly statementsManage and maintain the standard cost systemCalculate product costs for potential new product launchesSupport analysis of monthly production variancesContribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes as neededPrepare journal entries and generate various financial reportsAssist with the budgeting and forecasting processHelp review and improve internal controls and policiesSupport bank and external audit proceduresAssist in developing KPIs and profitability metricsPerform other duties as assigned by managementMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
