The Data Center Engineering Availability team is looking for a TPM to serve as a technical resource and leader. The builder will be responsible for driving large-scale global projects and initiatives, that directly impact capacity delivery and availability for our customers. If you like to interact with customers and a diverse array of stakeholders, track and analyze performance data, and develop new processes and methods to drive improvements, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help ensure delivering high availability for AWS customers.

Key job responsibilities

Our Availability TPMs are individuals who demonstrate initiative and proactively seek solutions to problems. - Develop and own plan of record for programs and projects in scope.

Build, integrate, and maintain reporting for areas of responsibility within existing reporting schemes and mechanisms. Where required, implement new reporting.

Build and manage project schedules/plans to support project delivery.

Collaborate with project stakeholders in multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver on agreed upon milestones.

Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs.

Plan and coordinate events including facilitation and action item management.

Implement or enable virtuous continuous improvement cycles in macro team processes.

Continuously monitor key metrics.

Measure and report effectiveness of new programs and platforms.

Develop, Own, and report on: program goals, performance, efficacy and efficiency to a variety of stakeholders across different technical domains and at varying cadences (weekly / monthly / quarterly) for area of responsibility.

Communicate project issues and status in a concise, accurate, and professional manner.

Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities managing risk by bridging interdepartmental gaps.

A day in the life

A day in the life of this role will involve a mix of meeting with our internal Engineering and Operations teams as well as other TPM's to implement solutions across our infrastructure. You will be expected to own outcomes and closing detected gaps across the teams, and producing effective reporting demonstrating the mechanistic closure of issues detected. Your day will be split between stakeholder engagement meetings, deep dives, and personal project time.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of technical product or program management experience

3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
