The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) team within the Specialty Engineering Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. TEE products are in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. TEE has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and sustainment.

You will supervise and lead a team of approximately 10 – 20 members. You will establish meaningful and measurable goals and communicate effectively with your team to ensure alignment with the department and directorate. You will conduct formal and informal performance reviews and career development discussions with team members. You will be expected to lead by example while adhering to and ensuring alignment with our Values and Behaviors. The Section Lead role is anticipated to be approximately 15% of the work week, with the remainder of the work week charged to program contracts, within the TEE organization.

As a part of this role, you will collaborate with multi-discipline teams in the operation, testing, and troubleshooting of systems. You will provide independent health checks by evaluating program’s metrics. You will interact with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, CPT/Directorate Leads, as well as other functional management to drive results to achieve program and business unit objectives. You will support TEE program hiring goals as well as lead the onboarding of new section personnel.

What You Will Do:

Supervise and guide multi-disciplined teams in the development of test equipment

Assist section members with career and personal skills development

Prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a production environment

Contribute to cost and schedule management planning

Communicate with senior management on personnel and task status

Ensure section members are trained on troubleshooting software and test equipment

Consult on process and development of requirements for software products

Communicate with Program Management on team strength and skill availability

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

Experience integrating software applications using programming languages including but not limited to C++, C#, Java, Python or Visual Basic.

Professional engineering experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementation and ensure integrity of the software products.

Experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Visual Studio is required.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Previous experience with career development and personal skills development of team members

Past engineering experience working in a matrix organization comprised of multidiscipline design teams across multiple projects with rigorous design disciplines

Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System or similar budget tracking system)

Knowledge with the Performance Development Process.

Experience with our Proposal Capture Process (development of compliant Basis of Estimates).

Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process and Engineering Labor Forecasting (ELF) System.

Knowledge with business and program improvements through process improvement methodologies.

Development of integration, verification, and validation planning documentation of integration and test plans, procedures, reports, status reports, and other related documentation.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
