Under the overall accountability of the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary, SITA is looking for an experienced legal officer, preferably a paralegal, to be a key player in a small team devoted to the support of all customer and related activity in the Americas Geography, primarily focusing on the work SITA does at US and Canadian Airports and in the field of communications & data exchange. This is a sleeves rolled up deal support role – requiring strong attention to both the control and enablement aspects of the legal function.On top of the functional skills and experience, this position requires a high sense of ownership, strong commercial acumen, the willingness to get into the detail while keeping a clear sense of direction and purpose and the ability to work with colleagues across the SITA business – whether in Sales, Bid and Proposal Management, Finance, Tax, Operations, Engineering, Product or elsewhere.This important role reports to the Head of Legal for the Americas Region who is based in Atlanta. The principal internal client is SITA’s North American (NAM) GEO Sales team, led by SITA’s NAM, Vice President. The role will involve direct customer negotiations and interactions, challenging and influencing stakeholders, fostering relationships, and navigating complex, ambiguous situations to deliver transformative outcomes. It is also highly pragmatic in focus: this is about stuff that needs doing each day.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provide advice and counsel to sales, bid managers, proposal managers and customer solution teamsSuccessfully lead contract negotiations with customers to ensure SITA has both protected its interests while supporting its customers’ needsProvide complex risk assessment analysis to internal stakeholdersPlan, manage and address areas of legal risk and/or compliance on AMER GEO projectsSupport Purchasing group with supplier contracts and negotiationsMaintain excellent inter-personnel communications and relationshipsStrong drafting with the ability to clearly communicate complex legal and factual mattersQualifications
EXPERIENCE:Qualified Lawyer, licensed in at least one U.S. StateThrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented commercial environment and understand financial principles and practices in a multi-national corporate context.7+ years relevant work experienceStrong project management principles (task identification and prioritization, timeline management, results focus)Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and develop appropriate strategiesExcellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levelsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentCompletely fluent in English (written and spoken); all other languages a real plusWHAT WE OFFER:
