AR/VR Research Scientist

(aka The Reality Innovator) to lead research initiatives that push the boundaries of immersive technology and pave the way for groundbreaking applications.As an AR/VR Research Scientist at

our client , you’ll collaborate with engineers, developers, and academics to explore emerging technologies, develop prototypes, and publish your findings. Your expertise in computer vision, machine learning, and human-computer interaction (HCI) will drive the evolution of AR/VR systems and their real-world applications.Key Responsibilities:Lead Research in AR/VR Technologies:

Conduct advanced research in areas like computer vision, spatial computing, human-computer interaction, and real-time rendering. You’ll identify opportunities to advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR.Develop Prototypes and Proofs of Concept:

Design and build experimental systems to validate research concepts. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to translate theoretical insights into functional prototypes.Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:

Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to align research objectives with product goals. You’ll ensure that innovations are practical and scalable.Publish Findings and Contribute to the Scientific Community:

Write research papers, present at conferences, and contribute to academic journals. You’ll share findings that advance the broader AR/VR research field while elevating the company’s thought leadership.Explore Emerging Technologies:

Stay ahead of the curve by investigating trends in AI, machine learning, optics, and sensory integration. You’ll evaluate the potential of new tools and technologies to impact AR/VR systems.Evaluate and Optimize Performance:

Test and refine algorithms for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in real-world applications. You’ll focus on improving latency, spatial awareness, and user immersion.Mentor and Guide Junior Researchers:

Support the growth of early-career researchers by mentoring, providing feedback, and fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.Required Skills:Expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning:

Strong knowledge of real-time object detection, tracking, scene understanding, and related AI/ML techniques.Experience with AR/VR Development Platforms:

Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, and AR/VR SDKs (ARCore, ARKit, OpenXR) for prototyping and experimentation.Proficiency in Programming:

Advanced skills in Python, C++, or similar languages for developing algorithms and prototypes.Knowledge of Optics and Sensor Integration:

Understanding of camera systems, depth sensors, LIDAR, and IMUs for AR/VR hardware applications.Strong Analytical and Research Skills:

Proven ability to design experiments, interpret data, and solve complex problems in AR/VR technology.Educational Requirements:Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

Extensive experience in AR/VR research may be considered.Peer-reviewed publications in AR/VR, HCI, or related fields are highly desirable.Experience Requirements:5+ years of experience in AR/VR research and development,

with a focus on solving complex technical challenges.Proven track record of successful prototypes or published research in AR/VR or related areas.Familiarity with multidisciplinary projects that integrate hardware and software solutions.
