BrightPath Early Learning (BrightPath) operates and develops quality based childcare centers across North America. BrightPath is committed to be an innovative provider of early learning and childcare services and is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Etobicoke, ON.
Job description:
The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is critical to the delivery of financial information on a timely basis. Candidates must possess strong organization and analytical skills in a position that is very detail oriented. The successful candidate will also be able to communicate clearly and concisely with various internal departments as well as external stakeholders. This is a deadline driven role and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment are a must-have.
Responsibilities include:Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accountsAssist in the preparation of income statement reporting and analysisTake ownership of and complete monthly accounting entries in areas such as prepaids, accruals, payroll, revenue, fixed assets etc.Prepare and maintain financial records and working papers in support of transactionsAssist in the month-end accounting close processCollaborate with team and other departments on various finance projectsMonitor banking activities for multiple entities to find irregularities and process appropriate journal entriesProvide audit supportSupport government funding accounting as neededAd-hoc accounting duties as assignedQualifications required:
Graduated from an accredited university with a degree in accounting or finance2-4 years plus of experience working in a similar accounting roleAdvanced skills in Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience working with ERP software. Knowledge of NetSuite and ADP is an assetEnjoys fast-paced work environment; able to multi-task while working with tight deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate initiative and a high degree of accuracy in executing tasks; andCommitment to continuous learning and process improvement.Adaptive to changing needs and demands of the business and roleOur team members enjoy
