Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative professional to join the Latin America Tax Team in Tampa, Florida and take responsibility over tax compliance of a diverse group of jurisdictions across the Region, leveraging external experience, best practices, technology, and innovation pursuing enhancements to the existing tax functions to support continuous and sustainable growth.
Role:
This role will be focus on properly documenting tax compliance primary for Chile, filing accurate returns by avoiding penalties, meeting internal or jurisdictional tax deadlines and improve compliance routines with technologies. In addition, as a Latam tax manager you are expected to support other markets primary Peru and Colombia. This role will be to partner with the Senior Tax Manager, coordinating an external team and working closely with local finance and business teams to ensure a proper filing of the tax obligations.
Position Responsibilities:Responsible for the elaboration of the local country tax calculations in LATAM region, primary Chile and support the Sr Manager on specific requirements of tax compliance and reporting related to Peru and Colombia.Responsible for all income tax accounting routines, this includes journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.Prepare US GAAP tax reporting, provision and contingency through OneSource (TaxStream tool).Prepare tax projections (ETR, deferred taxes and cash tax flow).Responsible for transferring pricing documentation and collaborating on the analysis of the legal entity profitability jointly with the local finance teams.Ensure SOX compliance in relation to reporting controls by supporting testing and documentation processes.Support the Sr Manager on resolving tax requirements with close collaboration with finance and business teams.Identifies potential tax compliance issues, performs research, and make recommendations to prevent & resolve tax issues.Look for technological initiatives to create effective calculations and financial models to support tax returns and provisions, dashboards and analytics.Provide tax support for local business, connect with the Sr Manager to advise business partners on relevant changes in tax legislations.Build a strong networking across global tax, finance, customs, treasury and legal.Work with the operations team, legal, country controllers and other stakeholders.Work with outside advisors to support certain tax positions.Be current with changes in tax laws that could impact the Companys operations.
Main Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field + 8 years of combined tax experience in public accounting or a large multinational company with a corporate tax department or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience with tax rules in Latin American countries.
Knowledgeable in the areas of LATAM business practices and tax complexities.
Proficient in English & Spanish skills (written, reading, and speaking).
Exposure to a large ERP system, in particular SAP and One Source/Tax stream would be advantageous.
Advanced skills in Excel functions (pivot tables, macros, filters, etc.)
Good understanding of accounting and tax principles; prior tax return preparation experience a plus.
Team players with good collaborative skills are confident in communicating with others and can work with minimal supervision.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to deliver
accurate documentation and task completion.
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a time sensitive environment. Detail oriented and organized.
Open to receive/provide feedback and keen on continuing developing within the Organization.
Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations to come with possible solutions to be discussed with the Sr Manager.
Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
