Mechanic Pay:Starting pay $26-$28/hourTool Reimbursement program
Schedule:
Mechanic Hours:1st shift, Monday- Friday, 7-4:30pmResponsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required.Move trucks and trailers in and out of the shop for maintenanceOpen repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair orderPerform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standardsPerforms shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous-related duties as assigned.Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, and submits reports indicating the condition of equipment.Comprehend and perform the Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) processDiagnose and repair:
Tire/whee,
Brakes & Air Systems,
Clutch & Linkage,
Mud flaps/hangers,
Air intake system,
Start, charging, and electrical systems,
Landing gear and attachments,
In transit heat systems,
Install, diagnose, and repair e-log system,Perform trailer prepsTrailer and hose inspections per HM183 standardsPossesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security policies.Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's licenseHigh School Diploma or GED12 years of verifiable diesel mechanic experienceLeadership experience requiredExperience coordinating and assigning workPrevious experience with all types and makes of tractors/trailers and heavy-duty diesel trucksAbility to provide own tools commensurate with experienceBasic computer skillsAbility to read and comprehend service manualsKnowledge of tools and equipment used in the shop to repair and maintain company equipmentAdvanced knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenanceKnowledge of diagnostic softwareKnowledge of D.O.T. regulations and out-of-service parameters for tractors, trailers and accessorial equipment.Knowledge of proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.Benefits:
