Schedule:
36 hours/week, 12-hour rotating shifts (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM)
Call Requirements:
One short call (2-hour block) per week after a worked shift and one weekend of call per month.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the operating room, specializing in orthopedic and total joint procedures.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
Utilize provider order entry EMR systems effectively for documentation and coordination of care.
Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and nursing best practices.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
Valid and active Massachusetts RN license (required at the time of submission).
Certifications:
CPR - American Heart Association (AHA).
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant operating room nursing experience.
Orthopedic and total joint experience required.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications.
Familiarity with provider order entry EMR systems (specific to BIDMC preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a teaching hospital environment.
Expertise in specialty surgical areas beyond orthopedics, including gynecology, urology, oncology, and more.
