Regional Vice President, Sales

The Regional Vice President works collaboratively with the sales and marketing team, as well as independently, to accomplish their daily responsibilities, with the ultimate goal of driving sales and providing excellent customer service. This individual is responsible for the distribution of EquiTrust Life Insurance products through the support of core distribution partners, marketers, and producers. The Regional Vice President will conduct live in-person presentations, one-on-one meetings, webinars, and calls, on the channels of distribution. The Regional Vice President works to build and maintain solid working relationships and establishes a professional and effective selling process.
This individual will be responsible for supporting, developing, and implementing Sales and Marketing strategies to promote and increase the sales of EquiTrust products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops sales goals and marketing plans to grow sales, market share, and to increase visibility for EquiTrust in partnership with the Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Vice President of Sales and Marketing...Directs, executes, and maintains a strong business plan that will provide strategy, guidance, and direction for the sales organization to achieve desired growth and meet established performance targets.Builds and directs a more complex relationship platform by identifying senior contacts, within targeted firms to drive the sales organization in achieving maximum profitability and in meeting established growth targets.Develops a comprehensive understanding of existing/targeted organizations/institutions, including key market segments, how they operate, and a keen understanding of their key business value proposition.Sets strategy and works with Internal Wholesalers in identifying, building, and developing relationships with distribution partners, including Marketing Organizations (MO), marketers, and producers that will meet or exceed established company goals.Consistently monitors the industry and local competitive landscape for trends and changes. Uses their strong knowledge of the competitive landscape to affect change within EquiTrust for business success.Leads formal and informal meetings, in-person and remotely, with marketing organizations, marketers, and producers to secure better relations, promote company products and services, and gain useful information and intel to aid EquiTrust in establishing and maintaining marketing programs and practices.Engages with Independent Marketing Organizations (IMO) to validate and enhance the effectiveness of the current and future state of the business relationships.Develops and maintains profitable, productive relationships with marketing organizations, marketers, and producers in order to significantly capture sales and market share. Able to anticipate and identify changes before needs arise.Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop proposals, new products, and initiatives that will drive market differentiation and enhance EquiTrust's success and market presence.Supports and participates in various strategic partner firm meetings, sponsorships, and conferences.Plan travel and completes expense reports adhering to corporate travel and expense guidelines.to assist marketing organizations in their recruitment, training, and motivation of new EquiTrust agents, as required.Provides guidance and coordination for sales activities with the Internal Wholesalers and Sales Support Team for all product lines.Acts as an internal liaison and subject matter expert to provide assistance with administration escalations to provide support and resolve issues.Responds to and resolves requests according to EquiTrust policies in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner for external customers, departmental staff, and other EquiTrust personnel at all times.Serves as a confident, professional, and adept public speaker on behalf of EquiTrust and its product portfolio.Assists the Assistant Vice President, Sales in recruiting new marketing organizations.Maintains a positive image of the company in the interactions with others serving as a representative of the organization.Able to accommodate and perform extensive travel, including weekend travel, more than 50% of the time.Supports the Sales and Marketing team and/or other departments on an as-needed basis.Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.Skills and Abilities:
Must have strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Must have strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong phone presence and skills in handling calls under pressure.Demonstrates thorough, in-depth knowledge of company products, practices, and procedures.Ability to prioritize workflows, establish and meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent tasks.Ability to work effectively in a variety of situations and respond to change in a positive manner.Advanced computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems and programs including Microsoft Office, proprietary systems, and other technology solutions.Excellent interpersonal skills are required, including a high degree of professionalism.Ability and flexibility for significant travel including some weekends.Carries out responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with EquiTrust's Core Values and focuses on customer service; helps to create an environment of openness and trust for all employees and strives for continued professional skills development.Training or Work Experience:
Degreed Professionals: 6 years of life and annuity experience required. 6 years of sales or wholesaling experience required.Non-Degreed Professionals: 8 years of life and annuity experience required. 8 years of sales or wholesaling experience required.Direct leadership or management experience is preferred.Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education or life and annuity industry experience required.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Working Conditions:
On-Site Location: West Des Moines, Iowa.Frequent travel (more than 20% of the time).
