Key Responsibilities:
Operate the Bus: Drive a passenger bus along designated routes, ensuring safety and adherence to schedules.
Passenger Safety: Ensure all passengers board and exit the bus safely. Monitor passengers during the journey to ensure safety, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
Maintain Schedule: Follow assigned routes and schedules. Notify dispatch of any delays or issues affecting travel time.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic vehicle inspections before and after each shift, including checking fuel levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness. Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
Customer Service: Assist passengers, provide information about routes and stops, and address any questions or concerns in a polite manner.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations. Ensure the bus is in good working condition and operate it safely at all times.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies, including medical incidents, accidents, or evacuations, and follow proper procedures.
Record Keeping: Complete daily logs, report accidents, and submit required paperwork related to the operation of the vehicle.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
License: A valid drivers license (CDL preferred)
Experience: Previous driving experience, preferably with a commercial vehicle.
Skills: Strong driving skills, excellent communication, and customer service abilities, ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or assist passengers with luggage or items, and sit for extended periods while driving.
Working Conditions:
Hours: Varies, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Environment: Driving in all weather conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather.
