Thursday, November 14, 2024Non-ExemptJob Summary:A Developmental Technician assists experienced Service Technician III with a variety of tasks, including routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. This role is designed for individuals passionate about automotive technology and committed to learning the skills necessary to advance in the field. You will receive on-the-job training, support, and guidance to develop your technical expertise and contribute effectively to our service.Essential Functions:Assist experienced service technician III with routine maintenance and repair tasks. Observe and learn various aspects of automotive repair, including diagnostics, parts replacement, and system servicing.Perform basic repair and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake servicing, and fluid checks. Follow instructions and procedures to ensure quality workmanship.Help with the use of diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues. Learn to interpret diagnostic data and assist in troubleshooting problems.Provide support in interacting with customers when required. Communicate effectively to understand service needs and relay information to technicians.Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working condition.Document all work performed, including parts used and labor hours; maintain accurate records of repairs and services.Follow all federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive service and repair, including Cal/OSHA.Work closely with other technicians, parts associates, and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow.Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing protective gear and equipment as required.Maintain satisfactory attendance.Perform other related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.2 years’ experience as an entry-level automotive technician.Valid California driver's license and clean driving record within 30 days of hire.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.Preferred Qualifications:Completion of National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), a certified technical training program in automotive technology at a high school or at a community college.Mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
