Overview:
The NCCS Head of School (HOS) is responsible for the institutional excellence of NCCS, effectively leading and managing the responsibilities of the HOS role in line with the school's mission, vision and values. This includes and is not limited to supervising all employees and the daily operations of the school both academically and administratively ensuring the ongoing health and safety of the school, its staff, and its students. This position, available for the 2025-26 school year, reports directly to the Board of Directors of NCCS.
Responsibilities:
Leading the NCCS school & community with vision and purpose in alignment with the school's values, and strategic goals.
Ensuring the health and growth of the school by recruiting qualified teachers, new students & families and by maintaining strong class sizes and high retention rates.
Building and maintaining healthy rapport and relationships with NCCS families, students, and staff as evidenced by strong school spirit, school growth, and retention.
Demonstrating leadership & commitment to NCCS students & families by partnering with parents to support students' academic success, character development, and discipleship including taking disciplinary action when necessary, resolving conflicts in a diplomatic, timely, and biblical manner, and guiding families, students, and teachers toward biblical solutions.
Developing, evaluating, and supervising teaching & support staff to ensure excellence in classroom instruction, curriculum, and day-to-day school operations.
Creating a positive culture of learning that embraces academic excellence, character development, and social /emotional growth in its students as evidenced by a love for learning, academic achievement, leadership & service opportunities, engagement in school programs and extracurriculars, and ultimately, school growth.
Managing school facilities and operations, including Extended Care Program (ECP), in compliance with state requirements, certifications, and safety regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
A minimum of three years educational leadership experience preferred; a minimum of five years Christian School experience preferred. Experience in classical education a plus.
Commitment to the statement of belief held by NCCS.
A passion for classical education accompanied by a strong desire to build a Christian community of learning. A love for and understanding of students and their unique needs and gifts.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills necessary to build rapport with and to exert a positive influence on staff, students, parents, and the NCCS community.
Proven ability to resolve conflict in a timely, diplomatic and biblical manner while guiding those involved toward biblical solutions. Strong leadership & delegation skills.
Openness to personal growth and willingness to maintain a healthy working relationship with the school's board of directors.
