Job Description

Stamford Health is looking for a Full Time ED Transporter (8pm-4am) shift.

Transports patients and or products to and from the ED to nursing and interdepartmental units.Transports the patient, safely on the proper transportation device both to and from the Emergency Department; always informs the charge nurse when a patient has left and returned. Helps to co-ordinate efforts between the ED and in-patient floors and ancillary support areas..Transports patient laboratory specimens to and from the ED when patient needs demand.Demonstrates good judgement in handling difficult situations and responding appropriately, remaining positive. Responds effectively and efficiently to calls from the ED , in-patient floors or ancillary support areas.Demonstrates knowledge of hospital departments and services. Able to direct patients and visitors appropriately.Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of equipment related to specific tasks. Maintains equipment in working condition and informs appropriate personnel when equipment malfunctions. Stocks treatment areas an Pyxis as necessary.Executes job responsibilities to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency in an independent manner. Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for successful performance of duties and demonstrates maturity for accountability of job performance.Continuously works at establishing and maintaining a working relationship with supervisors, physicians and other hospital personnel.
