About Us
ALM Hopewell Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization that provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City.
Job Summary:
The Employment Specialist provides case management services to clients with psychiatric diagnoses, co-occurring substance use, chronic physical health problems, and complex social needs. Additionally, an Employment Specialist assists clients with locating and securing employment, as well as connecting clients with resources in the community.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assess and provide direct services to participants in the following areas: health and wellness, income support, education, vocational training, employment and social supports.
· Refer and transport (as needed) individuals to initial appointments to establish services for employment, behavioral health, substance use, physical health, or other mainstream benefits.
· Maintain rapport with employers, as well as assisting clients with maintain employments
· Provide individual employment and vocational counseling, including assisting through all phases of the vocational service.
· Refer individuals to employment programs and assist with job development activities.
· Participate in daily treatment review meetings, leading the discussions around vocational/educational issues and incorporating findings into treatment plans
· Assist clients in designated program with symptom management skills; identify and clarify rehabilitation and recovery goals. Any other roles as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s degree in behavioral health science, and/or 2 years of relevant case management experience in employment and development. Behavioral health experience is preferred.
