Job Description

Job Title: Associate Director, Commercial Procurement Business Partner - Immunology

Purpose:

As the Associate Director, Commercial Procurement Business Partner (Immunology), you’ll be a trusted partner to critical senior stakeholders within (or adjacent to) the Commercial Immunology organization, helping to align business and Procurement strategies. You will partner with senior stakeholders to develop strategies and plans, contributing to cross-functional collaboration between Procurement and business stakeholders. This role requires a deep knowledge of the business and Procurement strategies to provide strategic insights and develop solutions to address key issues and opportunities. In this position, you will be responsible for influencing cross-functionally and championing AbbVie's culture.

Responsibilities:

•Partner with senior business stakeholders within designated business area, serving as the primary point of accountability within the Procurement organization.

•Define and develop strategic value drivers with key business partners to secure collaborative partnerships that challenge the status quo to achieve cost savings, optimize processes, promote innovation, and enhance overall Procurement value.

•Inform and influence key internal and external business partners during Procurement strategy formulation, articulating business requirements, fit-for-purpose needs and opportunities; operate category agnostic on behalf of business area assigned.

•Contribute to Procurement savings initiatives and opportunities by partnering with assigned business partners and promoting the adoption of identified savings initiatives.

•Develop and activate mitigation strategies to proactively define and manage Procurement and business operations risk within assigned business area, ensuring compliance; challenge status quo of Procurement and business to drive optimization.

•Manage and support transformative Procurement projects, establishing cross-functional governance and securing support from senior business stakeholders; identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains, leveraging data analytics to develop long-term continuous improvement programs that achieve strategic objectives.

•Ensure effective project management from initiation to completion, directing and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects within assigned business area.

•Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategies, partnering with Category Management peers to drive innovation and collaboration with key suppliers within assigned business area, to enact creative and cutting-edge solutions to deliver on long-term business needs.

•Drive the end-to-end stakeholder management process, leading and strengthening the connection of business and Procurement strategies and goals; contribute to a cross-functional team that informs strategic decision-making by leveraging category-agnostic insights and business-area intelligence, market intelligence, industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.

•Lead, develop, and coach senior level individual contributors, setting ambitious performance targets, providing tailored coaching, and evaluating team performance; assist in planning to address skillsets, workforce requirements, capability needs, and long-term organizational staffing goals.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Mgmt., or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

•Minimum of 10 years of experience in Procurement, supply chain or related business or operations function.

•Previous experience driving cross-functional projects to completion and managing senior internal stakeholders.

•Executive presence and ability to collaborate across the organization.

•Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

•Comprehensive expertise in Procurement and relationship management, including working knowledge of assigned business area and cost and financial assessment, ensuring strategic and informed Procurement decisions.

•Strong capabilities in internal stakeholder management and influence, aligning Procurement strategies with business needs and fostering collaborative relationships. Strategic thinking and accountability, anticipating future trends, and taking responsibility for impactful Procurement outcomes that challenge the status quo.

•Innovative problem-solving skills combined with a significant executive presence, enabling creative solutions and influential communication at all organizational levels. High cross-functional leadership abilities, conflict resolution skills, effectively navigating & harmonizing diverse team dynamics.

•Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, facilitating empathetic interactions, effective communication, and robust relationship-building across a matrixed organization.

•High resilience under pressure and autonomous work ethic, maintaining performance in challenging situations and making independent decisions. Fluency in business partnering activities, adept in implementing complex projects with a focus on effective change management.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

Salary: $133,500 - $253,500
