Main purpose of the Creative Director (Denim) role:
This is a full time role for an experienced, senior level candidate who has the ability to drive the conception, presentation and development of the Design and trend strategy for our Denim brands. This Creative Director will work side by side the Executives in guiding and overseeing the creative direction across multiple brands. Not only will he or she maintain a deep understanding of the Revolve customer – this role will also ensure that it is clearly communicated through the creative briefs, design concepts, and brand strategy.
Major Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Creative Vision and Leadership:
Develop and execute the creative vision for the brand across collections, campaigns, and retail experiences.
Lead and inspire design, marketing, and editorial teams, ensuring alignment with brand strategy.
Product Development & Design Direction:
Own the concepting and design of seasonal denim collections.
Collaborate with product teams to ensure consistency in fit, materials, washes, and finishes.
Lead in fabric innovation, new silhouettes, and seasonal trends to create exciting, forward thinking collections.
Brand Identity & Visual Storytelling:
Shape the overall brand identity through consistent creative storytelling across all touchpoints.
Lead in concepting seasonal campaigns. Supervise photoshoots, editorials, lookbooks, and visual merchandising strategies.
Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to align brand messaging for all social channels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with merchants, buying, production, and supply chain teams to meet deadlines and product goals.
Partner with external vendors, artists, and influencers to create collaborations and brand partnerships.
Trend Analysis & Market Insights:
Keep up to date on fashion + cultural trends. Partner with lead Merchant to understand competitive brands to ensure the brand stays relevant and innovative.
Translate insights into actionable creative strategies for future collections and campaigns.
Required Competencies:
Excellent ability to understand all stages of the design development process specifically for Denim.
Excellent ability to elevate the Design aesthetic and understand the Revolve customer.
Have a trend-focused, forward-thinking mindset.
A risk taker but also data-driven.
Experience working closely with various cross-functional departments, including the Buying and Merchant teams.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and exceptional ability to identify and improve processes.
Strong ability to take risks with design concepts, while also staying aligned with the customer.
Expert knowledge of denim development process, fabrics, washes, patterns and construction.
Expert ability, with prior experience, to lead, manage and train multiple levels of designers and multiple brand categories.
Expert communication skills.
Expert analytical and decision making skills.
Proactive, self-motivated, advanced knowledge of how to delegate and still meet deadlines with "get it done" attitude.
Flexible personality willing to take direction and change as business needs change/grow.
Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and short lead calendar (5 months).
Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 8+ years of senior leadership and creative experience.
10+ years of professional work experience in women’s apparel, predominately in the Denim industry.
Degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Product Development or Apparel Design related field.
Expert computer skills including experience using Microsoft suite, Adobe suite and Google suite applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 8+ years of senior leadership and creative experience.
10+ years of professional work experience in women’s apparel, predominately in the Denim industry.
Degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Product Development or Apparel Design related field.
Expert computer skills including experience using Microsoft suite, Adobe suite and Google suite applications.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Revolve includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $200K to $240K.
