Job Summary

As a part of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Strategic Projects and Communications team, this role will independently oversee a comprehensive communications program with moderately complex communications requirements, The communications specialist will be involved in developing and executing communications components in alignment with strategic projects which impacts SCM's interactions with both campus and UCSF Health staff and external suppliers.This can involve written, visual, digital and electronic communications. Works with management to dlop and execute organizational communication and market branding strategy. Designs and implements information campaigns. This role will also be involved in some project management responsibilities, independently managing the timeline, tasks, content creation and excution of communications projects.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description

Supply Chain Management (SCM) manages the processes that allow UCSF to source, procure, contract, move, pay for and store goods and services. By enabling academic, medical, and research excellence, we directly impact UCSF's mission and "advance health worldwide". We work collaboratively with each department on campus, maintain action-oriented focus, and continually advocate for innovation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training3-5 years relevant progressive experienceKnowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applicationsKnowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applicationsSolid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications planKnowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiencesSolid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skillsSkilled in basic website design and content management systems such as: DrupalExperience in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field. Knowledge and experience with electronic communications platforms and tools

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and / or health sciencesKnowledge of communications tools such as: Constant Contact, StaffbaseKnowledge is e-learning platform such as: Articulate 360UC experience
