Job Description:
The Sr. Manager/Director of Strategic Growth & Pre-IPO (level determined based on experience) will support and cultivate relationships among outside partners, LG NOVA, and its newly established ventures.
The short-term goals of this position will be to communicate regularly with leadership from LG NOVA's new startup ventures to identify current challenges and opportunities, and propose solutions to support the new ventures by collaborating with NOVA's internal team.
The long-term goals of this position will be to brainstorm with LG NOVA's new startup ventures to develop strategies for exploring pathways for their strategic business growth, and also prioritize focus areas.
What You'll Do
Business Strategy:
Go-to-Market Strategy, develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies, including market segmentation, targeting, and positioning.Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan outlining the roadmap for a new venture to encompass key milestones and timelines.Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential challenges.Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress towards new venture's goals.Regularly review and adjust the strategic plan based on market dynamics, company performance, and investor feedback with leaderships from new ventures.
Organizational Development & Leadership:
Team Building, assist in building high-performing teams, including recruitment, onboarding, and team development.Communication & Collaboration, foster effective communication and collaboration within the new ventures.Conflict Resolution, mediate conflicts and facilitate constructive solutions.Delegation & Empowerment, guide founders in delegating effectively and empowering their teams.
Corporate Governance & Board Management:
Advise new ventures on best practices in corporate governance, including board composition and committee structures.Prepare the new ventures for increased scrutiny from investors, analysts, and the media.Manage relationships with the board of directors and provide regular updates on the company's progress towards IPO.
Operational Excellence & Scalability:
Implement systems and processes to ensure operational efficiency and scalability as the company grows.Identify and mitigate potential risks that could derail the IPO process.Develop a robust internal audit function to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
What We Would Like You To Have
BS in engineering, business/economics, or related field.12+ years' experience in a combination of engineering, business development, innovation, corporate strategy, management consulting, and/or product management roles at F500, cutting edge start-ups and/or consulting firms.Ability to be independent and a self-starter, willing to offer help even when not directly asked.Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-changing environment.Ability to prioritize your own workload and adhere to important deadlines.Understanding of open and outside-in innovation, and challenge programs.Understanding of global innovation ecosystem development process.Experience in designing and managing multi-stakeholder projects is a plus.Experience coordinating with multiple third parties or internal teams to complete a project.Experience interfacing with clients, boards of directors, and other senior decision-makers or other internal/external stakeholders.
