The Senior HR Coordinator is a critical member of the Human Resources team in Ft Smith, AR. The focus of this role is to enhance the employee's experience by supporting employees through recruitment, new hire onboarding, performance management, benefits, and other HR functions. The Senior HR Coordinator must be a detail-oriented and dynamic individual with a passion for ensuring employees are valued. This role provides hands-on support with administration of policies and programs including but not limited to attendance, compliance, engagement activities and more.
Qualified candidates must be a self-starter with proven leadership and communication skills. They will possess the ability to work with individuals from varied backgrounds, skills, and education levels to complete projects in an efficient and organized manner.
Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring local, state and federal laws and regulations for changes that impact the site.Collaborate with HQ HR team to execute changes as needed to stay in compliance.Identify areas of improvement within the HR Function and lead projects to implement new processes.Lead new employee recruiting and onboarding process: Pre-screen applications, request background checks, prepare and process new hire paperwork, conduct new hire orientations, and other related tasks as needed.Engage in the development of hourly employees through training, coaching, and mentoring plant employees for improved performance.Facilitate 30, 60, and 90 day reviews for the hourly operation employees.Act as backup for Human Resources Manager, exercising discretion and independent judgment with employee related matters.Provide support and resources to employees throughout the leave of absence process.Perform entries, updates, and status changes of employee information in the HRIS and timekeeping systems.Support management staff in accomplishing their business goals by assisting with various reports from the HRIS and analytics tools.Maintain attendance records for all hourly employees. Issue and track attendance warnings as required.Own the coordination and execution of employee engagement events and special meetings such as volunteer opportunities and celebrating service anniversaries.Attend meetings as assigned; take, prepare, and post minutesProvide general HR information to all employees based on established practices and procedures.Maintain accurate employee records.Interface directly with all levels of Management and employees.Coordinate with staffing agencies for placement of temporary employees as needed.Assist with various administrative tasks and management support as needed and assigned.Support plant activities such as 5S, LPA's, Gemba and Safety including participating in audits.Performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, CertificationsBachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study required2-4 Years Human Resources experience as an administrator or general supportStrong background in all aspects of human resources and experience working in a manufacturing environment at all levels of the organizationCompetencies, Skills, KnowledgeGood written and oral communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak EnglishProficient with MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.)Ability to work independently, develop and follow-up on plans, and resolve conflicts effectivelyAbility to effectively prioritize tasks to support business requirementsStrong decision-making skillsMust be able to multi-task, handle multiple projects simultaneously, easily adapt to changing situations.Able to administer and follow all EHS rules and regulations.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Bilingual (Spanish) preferredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to fumes, dust, airborne particles, and extreme heat and humidity.While much work will be performed in an office setting, occasional time may be required in the manufacturing facility, where additional exposure is likely.Noise levels in the manufacturing facility are usually high.Qualified candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb with minimal effort.Occasional light lifting may be requiredMust be available to meet with employees who work on 2nd and 3rd shifts as neededOccasional overnight travel may be requiredEnvrionmentPosition will require time on the plant floor for employee interactions, to learn the jobs, and audits.Work will also be performed in the admin officeTravels:Less than 10%. May travel for trainings and meetings periodically
