(DC). Originating as a small specialty contractor, they have diversified their portfolio to encompass commercial renovations and new construction projects valued at up to $10 million. With a robust growth strategy aiming for an annual revenue target of $150 million, they are actively expanding their team. Currently, they are seeking to hire a Preconstruction Engineer.Description

Effectively communicating with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to address inquiries and clarify project requirements.Collecting and organizing data on materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs essential for project estimation.Researching and assessing supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and precise cost estimates.Analyzing project blueprints, specifications, and related documentation to comprehend project requirements.Utilizing estimating software and tools to input data accurately and generate comprehensive cost estimates.Collaborating with senior estimators to review and refine estimates, considering factors such as project scope changes, market conditions, and regulatory standards.Assisting in preparing bid proposals by organizing documentation, ensuring compliance with submission requirements.Conducting site visits and surveys to gather crucial information for accurate estimating.Maintaining well-organized records of project estimates, correspondence, and relevant documentation.Staying updated on industry trends, materials pricing, and construction methods to enhance estimating processes.

Profile

Minimum 1 year of experience in estimating/preconstruction, preferably with a General Contractor.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred.Proficient in using estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, and Excel.Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.Knowledgeable in construction methods, materials, and terminology.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.Adaptable and eager to learn new skills and technologies.Committed to teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic construction environment.
