Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems and components, including labor, materials, and overhead, based on project plans and specifications.Blueprint Review:
Analyze and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and identify potential cost implications.Market Research:
Conduct market research to stay updated on current pricing trends, material costs, and industry standards to ensure competitive estimates.Bid Preparation:
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop bid proposals and submit timely and accurate bids for electrical projects.Scope Development:
Work with the project team to define the project scope and clarify any discrepancies in project documents.Vendor Coordination:
Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and verify pricing for materials and services.Cost Tracking:
Monitor and analyze project costs throughout the construction process, making adjustments as needed to remain within budget.Reporting:
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, outlining estimates, assumptions, and methodologies used in the estimating process.Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to process improvements and best practices in estimating to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
ProfileThe Electrical Estimator - Top ENR Firm - Baltimore, MD will have:at least 5 years of experience in electrical estimating for a General Contractor or Subcontractora bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred)strong understanding of electrical systems, codes and regulationsproficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suiteexcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenstrong organizational skillsrelevant certifications are a plus
