The CSIS Global Health Policy Center (GHPC) works with diverse stakeholders to make U.S. global health efforts more strategic, integrated, and sustainable, as well as to raise awareness of global health and its importance to U.S. national security.CSIS GHPC seeks a highly motivated Program Coordinator/Research Assistant to support the Center’s work, particularly related to the HIV/AIDS and routine immunizations portfolios supporting the research and organizational work of the director.The ideal candidate will have an educational and/or professional background in global health/health and some experience in project coordination. They should be able to work concurrently on multiple activities and projects and be adaptive to changing operational needs.The salary band for this position is $55,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:Project Management (75%), including but not limited to:Provide direct logistical and administrative support to the Program Director, including calendar management, travel coordination, itineraries, and other documents.Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, conferences, and other activities as assigned.Communicate verbally or in writing with CSIS and external partners.Manage the publication process for reports and other digital products.Monitor and review project budgets and annual program budgets.Liaise with external contacts and other CSIS experts.Other tasks as assigned by the Director.Research (25%), potentially including but not limited to:Conduct topical and regional research in support of Routine Immunization and HIV portfolio publications and briefings.Provide substantive guidance to the program’s network of experts during the publication, drafting, and editing process.KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Global Health, International Relations, International Development, Public Policy/Administration, or related field.Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in global health policies, programs, and stakeholders.Work experience in a policy-focused non-profit or think tank preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset, able to work independently and in teams.PC literate, specifically MS Office, and familiarity with web-based tools.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS:This position will be based out of our Washington DC headquarters and is expected to be in-office.
