Job#: 2054601Job Description:Purpose: The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing a company's cloud computing strategy. This individual will design, plan, and manage the applications, services, and infrastructure of the Agency's cloud-based systems to ensure they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
Responsibilities:Designing, coordinating, and maintaining the architecture of cloud-based applications and services.Assessing the requirements of a project or business need and determining the optimal cloud architecture.Overseeing the migration of data from legacy systems to the cloud and suggesting improvements to optimize for cloud storage, performance, and scalability.Designing data pipelines and integration workflows that allow for seamless flow between cloud and on-premises, leveraging technologies like messaging queues, APIs, and ETL tools.Collaborating with development teams to design and implement scalable cloud-based application architecture, including assistance with selecting the right cloud services and creating a migration plan of existing applications that will meet the Agency's goals and timeline.Assisting with deployment strategies for solutions, including familiarity with orchestration techniques and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) options.Offering direction to guide the team in learning and adopting Cloud architecture and techniques to ensure the team is prepared for significant changes, as well as the benefits and challenges involved.Creating and maintaining documentation of cloud architectures, operations, and workflows.Keeping up to date with industry trends and technologies, and recommending updates to technologies when necessary.
Skills:In-depth knowledge of cloud-based systems like AWS and Azure, preferably both, with exposure to OCI a plus.Solid understanding of network operations, software development, and information security.Ability to lead teams and provide guidance for cloud adoption strategies.Work within a potentially limited environment to suggest best strategies and practices for cloud adoption.Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation technologies, such as Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and the like.Understanding of application architecture, orchestration, virtualization, and security, including the use of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet, and the use of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.Expertise in data architecture and disaster recovery planning.Familiarity with cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and identity management.Understanding of cloud governance and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:Proven experience minimum 5 years as a Cloud Architect or similar role.Experience with AWS, Azure, or OCI.Demonstrated knowledge of IaC, orchestration, and configuration tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, and Docker.Proficient in cloud ecosystems, APIs, and frameworks.Excellent communication and presentation skills.BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.Cloud computing certifications such as AWS, Azure, and the like are a plus.Employee Type:ContractJob Type:Applications and Data Management
