The Institute of International Education (IIE) is hiring a Director for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. Humphrey Fellowship Program, which enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges and foster change for our collective good.This role is directly responsible for managing the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program, a Fulbright Exchange program, funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Key duties include overseeing all aspects of the program, ensuring timely submission of deliverables, monitoring the program’s internal budget and expenses, ensuring compliance with the cooperative agreement, and maintaining regular communication with the program sponsor. The role also involves preparing sponsor reports, coordinating project strategy, driving innovation, exploring potential service expansions, and tracking trends and requirements in U.S. universities.Essential FunctionsDevelops and implements an annual strategic plan for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program agreed upon by the US Department of State, to support foreign Humphrey Fellows and US higher education partners.Supervises, mentors, and trains Humphrey Fellowship team members.Promotes partnership with the Humphrey Program by continuously evaluating existing opportunities and recommending pathways for engagement with Fellows and program stakeholders.Oversees Humphrey host campus networks and liaise with campus leadership.Has direct oversight and authority over all aspects of the Humphrey Fellowship project.Continually enhances stakeholder engagement and manages internal meetings.Represents the program externally by conducting presentations and engaging with higher education leadership.Monitors the landscape and identifies trends in international higher education.Builds and maintains a network of partners to support Fellows and alumni.Supports IIE’s growth by collaborating with colleagues to improve operational efficiencies.Required Education and Work ExperienceRequires an advanced degree (master's degree in a relevant field) and at least 10 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience managing large international scholarship and/or exchange programs.Ability to work independently and handle a complex program group.Ability to motivate a team working on a collaborative project.Understanding of US university international education programs trends and challenges.Salary Range$103,308 - $137,389. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.IIE offers a robust suite of benefits to team members including medical, dental, and vision plans, paid time off, and holidays.The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework.Work Conditions & Physical Demands:Essential functions are performed in a general office setting with low noise.
