Kimberley Echo hiring for journalist

The Kimberley Echo of the West Australian Regional Newspapers is in need of a new journalist, to be based in Kununurra, WA.Under supervision of the Northern Editor, the journalist will be asked to cover and write original stories and feature materials, often in concert with the paper’s editorial staff. They will also provide pictures for the Echo’s digital channel and print media, plus develop community leads for a steady flow of materials for the paper.Applicants must be established journalists with over two years’ editorial experience. They should have strong interview and communication skills, the ability to develop relationships, and capability to work under heavy pressure, plus a deep interest in community activities/relationships. A valid drivers’ licence is also required.
