Sr. Director, Operations

The Senior Director of Operations role will report directly to the Tarkett North America (TNA) SVP of Operations and will provide manufacturing leadership for our locations in Chagrin Falls, OH and Middlefield, OH.The Senior Director of Operations will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing, plant operations, quality, and safety. The direct reports for the selected individual will include:Production ManagersMaintenanceQualityEnvironmental, Health, and Safety ManagerWorld Class Manufacturing (WCM)With dotted line relationships with: Planning & Inventory Control, Finance, Human ResourcesIn addition to providing hands-on management of the day-to-day operations, the role will be expected to formulate and drive a new vision for the operations, implement leading-edge WCM practices, and deliver best-in-class processes and efficiencies. Maintaining the company’s reputation and track record of customer service and quality will also be a key priority. Driving improvements in safety will be a top priority with an emphasis on safety leadership, employee engagement, and proactively addressing hazards.The Senior Director of Operations will examine Lean / world class manufacturing and automation alternatives and analyze the risks, costs, and benefits of these alternatives in an effort to drive costs down, create new solutions and significant improvements, while maintaining a strong customer orientation. The successful incumbent will also be measured on his/her ability to drive actions that improve safety, support organic business growth, implement continuous operational improvements, The successful candidate must have the ability to understand all aspects of the operation’s financial metrics and leverage the insights to define needed improvements. A key requirement of the role is the ability to develop the leadership capabilities of direct reports and throughout lower levels of the organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Hands-on leadership to drive high levels of manufacturing performance with disciplined processes while leading a culture of engagement and empowermentEfficiently and accurately forecast manufacturing and engineering performance and costs monthly, quarterly and annuallyDevelop multi-year strategic plans, annual operating plan/budget and capital expendituresDrive injury reduction with contemporary safety initiatives and engagement/ownership of all employees in safetyEnsure the establishment and implementation of programs designed to improve safety and environmental incidents/metricsEstablish/implement and enforce quality control to ensure products meet design intent and end-user requirementsEstablish/implement contemporary plant maintenance programs to maintain/improve asset reliability at target levelsDevelop a collaborative relationship within operations and across the organization to meet business strategic initiatives and ensure cross-functional integrationMaintain TNA’s culture through effective communication and collaboration and continue to build an operations culture focused on:
