Device, Digital and Alexa Support (D2AS) is responsible for the Customer Service operations and solutions for all Amazon Devices and Digital products, from Kindle and Echo, to Amazon Music and Prime Video.We’re seeking an Applied Scientist to develop cutting-edge AI solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLM), Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to understand and resolve customer issues and provide earth's best customer service. Translating business questions and concerns into specific quantitative questions that can be answered with available data using sound methodologies. In cases where questions cannot be answered with available data, work with engineers to produce the required data.Retrieving, synthesizing, and presenting data in a format that is immediately useful to answering specific questions or improving system performance.Applying statistical or machine learning knowledge to solve specific business problems.Building decision-making models and proposing solutions for the business problem you defined.Conducting written and verbal presentations to provide insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication to aid in making decisions.A day in the lifeWe thrive on solving challenging problems to innovate for our customers. 3+ years of building models for business application experiencePhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experienceExperience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journalsExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageExperience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computingPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
