Job SummaryPosition OverviewThe job functions as an interface between the technical, commercial, and legal for ConocoPhillips' proprietary natural gas liquefaction process to advance its use and competitiveness. ConocoPhillips licenses the right to use the Optimized Cascade process ("OCP") to liquefy natural gas. In addition, several trademarked improvements have been developed leveraging ConocoPhillips expertise in the area of natural gas liquefaction which can be licensed separately or augment the OCP offering.
Your responsibilities may include:Strategic development and implementation of ConocoPhillips OCP external marketing strategy, including handling industry conferences and associated contracting, and external relationsNegotiations and business development with potential licensees, joint venture partners, IOCs to secure selection and proper application of ConocoPhillips' LNG technology on worldwide projectsTechnical responsibilities include day-to-day coordination and oversight of ConocoPhillips' interests with client and contractor(s) from conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED and through detailed process design as well as startup and subsequent operationsCommercial responsibilities include agreement negotiation, including license contractsWork with the LNG process engineers and other subject matter experts within the Global Technical Functions (GTF) group to advance ideas for improving the OCP and other trademarked innovations. Work with other LNG Licensing Directors to understand customer needs. Integrate the team's concepts and facilitate the value proposition and commercialization plansEnsure the portfolio of intellectual property (IP) associated with the licensed product offerings is maintained and innovations are protectedMaintain the knowledge base for competing technologies to drive technology differentiation and commercial value for the licensing business
Basic/Required:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerBachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business admin/mgmt., related field or foreign equivalent7 or more years of experience in process design/engineering and/or operations of large LNG or ethylene facilities or related fieldWilling and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel internationally 10% of the time on a yearly basis
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree or higher in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, related field or foreign equivalent3 or more years of experience dealing with customers, contractors, and commercial contract negotiationsAdvanced level of knowledge of cryogenic liquefaction or ethylene plant design, construction, engineering and operationsAdvanced level of knowledge of OCP engineering and operationsAdvanced level of knowledge of project development activities from conceptual through detailed engineeringTeam player; positive attitude - able to adjust to dynamic work environment with changing prioritiesTakes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is rightBuilds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
