eero is seeking a WiFi Test Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our testing efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of our platform. As a WiFi Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building test cases, validating software releases, and ensuring an exceptional connectivity experience for customers. You will collaborate closely with development teams to identify and troubleshoot issues, ultimately enhancing the quality and reliability of our products. As part of eero's mission to reinvent WiFi, you'll be making a difference in the fabric of the modern home.

Key job responsibilities

Develop test plans for eero's whole home WiFi productsDefine, implement WiFi test cases and support automationDevelop ad hoc tests to support engineering debugDrive decisions about testing improvementsDrive projects from start to finish and guide team membersInterface with software, TPM, vendors and management teamsExecute WiFi test plansReport test results and plan statusReview specs for FCC/ETSI regulatory compliance tests such as DFS, Adaptivity, CBPWrite detailed bug reports for engineering teamSupport distributed development and QA teams

A day in the life

The WiFi testing team is a lean team working on multiple aspects of the WiFi stack from integration, mac layer functionality, routing & networking to host layer application level validation to improve the user experience of our mesh solutions. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and directly interacting with cross-functional teams and different stakeholders to drive decisions about the product.

The WiFi team in eero provides the most secure, fast, reliable and complete WiFi router system to our customers. We innovate on behalf of our customers. The team members are working closely to provide the best customer experience. WiFi team owns from design & development to quality assurance with dedicated WiFi labs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

6+ years of quality assurance engineering experienceKnowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in a QAE roleExperience in manual testing4+ years of quality assurance engineering experienceExperience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects4+ years of experience in maintaining & scaling up WiFi test labs4+ years of experience 802.11(ac/ax/be), Ethernet, Networking (DHCP, DNS, ARP, ICMP)4+ years of experience on installations of OS (linux/mac/windows)2+ years of experience with RF equipment and tools1+ year of experience with Python or Shell scripting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with embedded firmware testingGood understanding of 802.11 physical layer functionalityHaving led projects end-to-end from bring-up to productionBachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fieldPrevious experience as WiFi lab bring up around performance, DFS areas, debugging and troubleshooting skillsThrive in a fluid fast-paced environment, comfortable with ambiguity and can shift gears quicklyExperience with build systems and REST API development (Not mandatory)
