Norton Neuroscience Institute, a part of Norton Healthcare, is seeking a fellowship-trained physician with an interest in a neurocritical care opportunity. Norton Healthcare operates the area’s largest comprehensive stroke care system, with four adult-service hospitals accredited by The Joint Commission. They include two Primary Stroke Centers and one Acute Stroke Ready Center, as well as one Comprehensive Stroke Center: Norton Brownsboro Hospital in northeast Louisville.
The ideal candidate will join a team of board-certified neuroscience physicians, neurosurgeons and advanced practice providers at Norton Brownsboro Hospital, which serves as a regional referral destination. The neurocritical care team uses a multidisciplinary approach and works with nearly 130 adult and pediatric neuroscience providers who are part of Norton Neuroscience Institute.
Due to the needs of our community, Norton Healthcare has a strong demand for a neurocritical care intensivist to support our growing program and expanding facilities, including a new comprehensive neuroscience space. Norton Neuroscience Institute is the leading provider for neuroscience services in the area. Our neurocritical care program has established referral patterns from other Norton Neuroscience Institute neurologists, providers within Norton Medical Group (Norton Healthcare’s employed physician group), and community providers seeking tertiary expertise throughout the region.
ABOUT THE POSITION
- Dedicated support staff with advanced practice providers
- No mandatory trauma care
- 7 on/7 off schedule
- Access to 14 neurosurgeons through Norton Neuroscience Institute, including three endovascular/cerebrovascular neurosurgeons and two functional neurosurgeons
- Participation in the Neuroscience Symposium, as well as other continuing medical education events
- Weekly neuroscience clinical conference with neurosurgery and neurology providers
- Opportunity to provide care at an award winning comprehensive stroke center recognized by DNV and USNWR
- Research opportunities and support available through the Norton Healthcare Research Office
- Candidates are eligible for a competitive compensation package, including sign-on bonus, relocation assistance and a continuing medical education allowance.
- For candidates coming out of fellowship, we offer up to $100,000 recruitment incentive, and as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) health care system, the candidate may qualify for federal student loan forgiveness.
- For experienced candidates relocating to the market, we offer a retention bonus of up to $60,000.
