Summary
The Yard Spotter shuttles equipment within the distribution center premises as needed. Work to coordinate moves based on priorities directed by dispatch, shipping and receiving supervisors. Moving trailers on property as directed by supervisor and clerks in both warehousesVerifying seals and performing any load status yard checks as indicated by facilityPerforming trailer safety checks such as sliding tandem axles (if required)Expected to Red Tag trailers if neededMust obey all applicable traffic laws while conducting its operations on behalf of the customerFollow all facility traffic and safety rules as required by specific facilitiesWill be required to adhere to appropriate training records and sign off procedures as required by each facilityCommunicate with OTR Drivers as needed to facilitate correct dock door, trailer issues and/or load discrepanciesParticipation in continuous improvement processesMaintaining an effective Preventative Maintenance Inspection schedule for equipmentVery physical and fast-paced work environment while remaining focused on safety at all timesFollow Chobani's safety procedures and Good Manufacturing PracticesRequirements
High school Diploma or equivalent experience, GEDKnowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulationsAbility to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization, with customers and external vendorsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manualsverifiable tractor-trailer truck driver and trailer backing experience requiredSafe driving record; No DUI, DWI, or impaired driving in the last 7 years, No more than 3 points on driving record at time of hireWork on your feet for up to 12 hours in all weather conditions, and work overtime and weekends as neededBe able to lift, push or pull up to 50 poundsMust be at work on time and maintain good attendanceWhile performing the duties of this job, the technician is regularly required to talk and listen in person and while using a 2-way radio. Compensation Range: $24.50 - $32.50, plus bonus.
