Job Title: Finance ControllerDepartment: FinanceReports to: DOFLocation: Los Angeles, CAJob Type: Full-TimeJob Summary: The Controller will provide financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports. This role requires CPA status, experience with Fashion or retail brands is a plus, and proficiency in NetSuite.Must Haves:Meetingtight deadlinesE-comm experience.Multi-taskingShopify experience - is a advantageMulti-state sales tax compliance, reporting, filing, and remitting. Avalara experience - is a advantageTax Returns experience - multi-state filing.budgeting and forecasting experience.Financial Statements Preparation experience.Reporting package experience to HQ, monthly financials reportingKey Responsibilities:Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.Conduct monthly expense variance analysis and quarterly financial fluctuation analysis.Reconcile financial discrepancies and perform account reconciliations.Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.Prepare property, sales, use, and franchise tax returns, with an emphasis on multi-state sales tax compliance.Budget Vs. Actual analysis.Collaborate with various departments including Creative, Fashion, Purchase, Marketing and IT.Maintain accounting controls and updated policies and procedures and Assist with the implementation of new work procedures.Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and work closely with the bookkeepers to ensure and supervise the accuracy of ongoing/monthly/annual accounting matters.Respond to employee inquiries and provide support on accounting matters.Work closely with the companys auditors.Assist with the day-to-day finance operations, and with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status requiredExperience working with fashion brands is a plusProficiency in NetSuite accounting software.Minimum of five years of general ledger accounting experience.Strong Excel and database skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all company levels.
