It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.SummaryThis position will be responsible for focusing on reviewing and evaluating project documents for all new and existing condominium and cooperative share projects to ensure compliance with agencies such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and VA as well as investor specific guidelines.
This position is classified as a Transactional Employee (TE). Transactional Employees are assigned to work on an "as needed" or project basis. The variable nature of the transactional role cannot guarantee a 40-hour work week. Transactional employees are typically designated to work on a deal or a particular client assignment. At times, work may be reduced, and there may be occasional periods of no work. Efforts will be made to assign work, but work is entirely dependent on client needs.Essential FunctionsReview documents collected by Condo/HOA Specialist or documents provided by clients to determine if loans meet Agency guidelines, or any client overlays based on the review type. Review types include Limited, Full, New Construction and Co-Ops.
Complete reviews within defined turn times to ensure Service Level Agreements are maintained. Turn times are defined by the review type.
Ability to read and digest complex documents like engineer's reports, reserve studies, meeting minutes etc. to ensure loans are in compliance with Agency guidelines.
Will be required to reach out to HOA contacts and Insurance agencies for clarification on review items or for missing information.
Update our proprietary project approval database with the results of their analysis.
Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent time management and organizational skills with an emphasis on quality
Knowledge in the policies, principles, and practices of Condo/Co-op underwriting.
Knowledge and familiarity with current agency Condo/Co-Op underwriting guidelines.
Ability to provide clear concise feedback to team members about reviews.
Ability to flex between multiple accounts and can complete QC on all different Condo and Co-op review types.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to prioritize multiple objectives to meet client deadlines and department goals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven environment and adapt to constant modification of the workflow.
Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.
EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
ExperienceMinimum of 2+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting with a focus on condominium and cooperative project reviews.
In-depth knowledge of agency guidelines, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA regulations.
Proven expertise in underwriting, with experience conducting both Full and Limited Condo Reviews.
At least 2+ years of experience underwriting New Construction projects.
Strong analytical skills in evaluating appraisal reports for subject units and reviewing engineering reports.
Comprehensive experience reviewing and analyzing key documents such as Declarations, Bylaws, Operating Budgets, Reserve Studies, Questionnaires, Master Insurance Policies, Offering Plans, Amendments, and other related documentation.
