DescriptionThe Senior Accountant will be directly responsible for assisting with the preparation of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and ensuring ongoing compliance with SEC Exchange Act filing requirements. A strong emphasis is placed on continued improvement of the end-to-end processes and procedures followed in the preparation of the Company's financial statements and SEC filings. This role will assist with internal and external accounting matters including, but not limited to, month-end book closing, budgeting, board and committee reports and financial analyses. The position will assist with researching technical accounting and SEC matters and developing whitepapers, policies and procedures and business requirements, as needed.In this role you will:Support SEC filings including Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K, Proxy Statement, Form 8-K, Form 3/4s and other filings, as required.Assist with the preparation of the quarterly earnings release and investor presentations, as needed.Assist in the preparation of the SEC filings, including preparation of footnotes, schedules to support the financial statements and footnotes, MD&A and other SEC required items.Review XBRL tagging completed by SEC reporting vendor and monitor changes in XBRL reporting requirements to ensure compliance.Assist in the preparation of other management and Board of Director reports.Organize large volumes of data to create meaningful analysis and trend reports.Support the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager in collaborating with external auditors throughout the year to identify all information needed to facilitate the audit of the financial statements and to address efficiencies that may be gained in the audit process.Support and maintain documentation surrounding processes, procedures and controls related to the SEC reporting.Respond to business unit accounting questions or requests for support and drives quality and process improvements.Support the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager in monitoring evolving accounting guidance and maintain in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules.Perform disclosure research by reviewing examples of peer company financial statement disclosures and support the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager in the development of new SEC disclosures.Assist with the implementation of new accounting and reporting guidance. is includes working closely with impacted departments, supporting the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager in drafting technical memorandums, position papers and/or policy, ensuring the guidance is implemented appropriately and incorporating the required disclosures into our quarterly and annual SEC filings.Support the allowance for credit losses model and review adequacy in accordance with policy.Support the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and projections, utilizing historical data to inform accurate budget planning and future financial expectations.Maintain a good working relationship with bank employees.Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department, and in turn the organization.Work closely with other functional areas (i.e., operational accounting & reporting, investment accounting, tax, treasury) to resolve issues and support the achievement of business and department goals.Collaborate with teammates and initiate ideas to identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.Participate in other strategic accounting and business projects as they arise for the purpose of achieving functional goals and objectives.Assist in special projects for technical accounting and external reporting.Assist in developing SOX documentation for 2027 implementationPerforms additional duties as assigned.
