We are seeking a dynamic Volunteer Corps Manager to create and lead a new senior engagement program that creates meaningful community engagement opportunities and amplifies JASA’s work and reach.The Volunteer Corps Manager will spearhead the development, implementation, and management of a new initiative designed to enrich the lives of NYC seniors through volunteer-led activities and support services. This role requires a highly motivated individual with experience in volunteer management, program development, and a passion for senior advocacy.Key Responsibilities:Program Development:Design and launch a comprehensive senior engagement program that addresses the needs and interests of older adults across NYC in a way that empowers active clients and offers sustainable and meaningful service opportunities (both virtual and in-person) to non-client seniors.
Develop program components, including active stewardship calendar, promotion, and identification of areas that will offer impact.
Collaborate with JASA service leadership to ensure program relevance and impact.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:Develop and implement strategies to recruit a diverse pool of volunteers for the senior engagement program.
Create and deliver training programs to prepare volunteers for their roles and ensure effective interaction with seniors.
Oversee volunteer scheduling, supervision, and performance, providing support and feedback as needed.
Community Outreach and Partnership Building:Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to enhance program reach and effectiveness.
Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities to promote the senior engagement program and offer JASA’s resources to community members.
Program Coordination and Implementation:Manage day-to-day operations of the senior engagement program, ensuring smooth execution of activities and services.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate program logistics and address any issues.
Ensure that program activities are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with organizational goals.
Monitoring and Evaluation:Develop and implement metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and impact on senior participants.
Collect and analyze feedback from seniors, volunteers, and partners to continuously improve the program.
Prepare and present reports on program outcomes, successes, and areas for improvement to stakeholders.
Resource Management:Oversee the budget and resources allocated for the senior engagement program, ensuring efficient use of funds and materials.
Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and donations, to support program sustainability.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, gerontology, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer management, program development, or a related role.
Proven track record of creating and managing successful programs, particularly those involving senior populations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of volunteers and seniors.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Google Suite.
Experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.
Passion for senior advocacy and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults.
Additional Information:This is a full-time position based in New York City, with occasional evening and weekend hours required. It is a hybrid role, with occasional work from home. The office location will be in midtown NYC, with travel to JASA’s other 50 sites in the boroughs required as necessary.
