Job Summary :
eShocan is seeking an experienced
High Voltage Wire Harness Design Release Engineer (DRE)
to join our engineering team in
Plymouth, Michigan . This role will focus on the integration and development of high voltage electrical systems, including key components such as fuse boxes, relays, connectors, and power distribution systems for electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high voltage harnessing systems, including energy conversion, power management, and supporting the overall integration of electrical systems in vehicles.
Key Responsibilities :High Voltage System Integration : Develop and define the electric vehicle integration strategy for high voltage electrical systems, including energy conversion, power management, and high voltage harnessing systems.Component Design & Specification : Lead the design and component specification for high voltage systems, including on-board chargers, DC-DC converters, DCAC inverters, traction inverters, power distribution boxes, and high voltage cabling.Cross-Department Collaboration : Work closely with
battery ,
controls ,
thermal , and
drivetrain teams
to study and assess the design integration impacts of system architecture and component decisions.Supplier Management : Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that component specifications, timelines, and quality expectations are met. Ensure that components align with design requirements.System Integration & Troubleshooting : Support hands-on integration of high voltage electrical systems in development vehicle builds. Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the vehicle development lifecycle, from concept creation to vehicle launch.Design & Documentation : Develop 3D design data using
CATIA V5
and generate 2D drawings using
Zuken CAD
software to support manufacturing and supplier integration.Stakeholder Communication : Maintain clear, effective, and frequent communication with both internal and external stakeholders, including management, project leaders, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and other design departments.Requirements :
Experience : Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in designing and developing high voltage electrical systems, with experience in areas such as
fuse boxes ,
relays ,
connectors , and
power distribution systems .Technical Skills :
Proficient in
CATIA V5
for 3D design and drawing creation.Experience with
Zuken CAD
software for 2D drawing preparation.Strong knowledge of
vehicle development processes ,
vehicle manufacturing processes , and
high voltage wire harness manufacturing .Expertise in the design and integration of
electrical systems/parts , including
wire harness routing ,
wire specification issuance , and
vehicle electrical architecture .
Collaboration & Communication : Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and manufacturers.Problem-Solving Mindset : Ability to lead the development of engineering solutions with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and optimization.Attention to Detail : Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering problems with a high degree of precision.Preferred Qualifications :
Automotive Industry Experience : Experience in the automotive or electric vehicle (EV) industries is highly desirable, especially in roles related to high voltage wire harness design or electrical system development.International Experience : Exposure to working with international teams and suppliers is a plus.Compensation & Benefits :
