Position Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead efforts to drive business process improvements, cost savings initiatives, and enhance customer experiences across the organization. This individual will act as a change agent, leveraging Lean methodologies in a practical manner while building and executing a roadmap for continuous improvement. The role requires a proactive self-starter who can succeed in a resource-limited environment, recruit cross-functional teams, and ensure continuous improvement remains embedded in the company's culture.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
•Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Spearhead projects focused on improving business processes, reducing costs, and enhancing customer experience to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
•Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Engage and influence leadership and employees across all levels to embed continuous improvement into the company's DNA.
•Practical Application of Lean Tools: Use lean tools where applicable but adapt them pragmatically to the organization's needs, ensuring sustainable and scalable improvements.
•Business Case Development: Build compelling business cases for continuous improvement initiatives, securing buy-in and internal support by demonstrating value and potential return on investment.
•Cost Savings Projects: Develop cost-saving initiatives that are self-funded through their returns, minimizing the need for external funding.
•Coaching and Development: Coach and mentor teams and individuals in continuous improvement methodologies and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and long-term success.
•Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders across all levels, from production operators to the CEO, ensuring the right people are involved in initiatives and have a voice in improvement changes.
•Data-Driven Leadership: Leverage data to prioritize resources, track progress, and provide insights on where to focus improvement efforts.
•Adapt and Adjust: Be flexible in approach, willing to pivot or refine strategies based on feedback and changing business needs.
•Hands-On Leadership: Lead by example, rolling up sleeves to drive projects forward while enlisting and motivating others to contribute to initiatives.
•Change Management: Drive change in environments with limited budgets and resources by being creative and resourceful in overcoming obstacles.
Required Skills
Minimum:
•Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
•A minimum of 6+ years of experience in a continuous improvement or similar role.
•Demonstrated success leading projects that improve business processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer experiences.
•Proven ability to develop and sell improvement ideas internally to various stakeholders.
•Strong people skills and the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels.
•Strong leadership and influencing abilities, with a track record of building coalitions across functions.
Preferred:
•Demonstrated experience implementing a company-wide continuous improvement program.
•Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
•Lean Practitioner certification.
•Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Other:
•Ability to travel internationally, up to 10%
