Completes requests for troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installation of voice and data equipment. Provides reports and documentation on actions taken. Acts as a second level of support as part of a team of technicians who maintain and support voice and data communication systems. Identifies issues and resolves hardware and software problems through an appropriate course of action using established policies and procedures. Acts as a resource to other staff and clients on new voice and data technologies.
Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, WLC/APs, Load Balancers) as needed.Troubleshoots connectivity issues typical in a LAN/WAN environment.Provides reports/documentation in work order system and in department library regarding work completed.Sets up network access for users, printers, AV equipment and misc. network devices including ACL/VLAN configurations, port security, QoS and other access layer related duties in a LAN/WLAN environment.Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains network equipment (i.e., phones, routers, switches, firewalls, UPS's, wireless AP's, and other infrastructure equipment) as needed.Monitors voice and data systems for performance to assure dependable and uninterrupted operation of voice/data network systems.Utilizes protocol analyzer to assist with protocol analysis support such as TCP/IP, multicast and other routing/routed protocolsAssists senior staff in tracking network assets, lifecycle management and capacity planning.Develops or establishes relationships with providers.Maintains current skill set through professional initiative, on the job opportunities, and available formal training.Participates in after-hours support.Other duties as assigned.
