Independence Excavating is looking to hire an
Employee Benefits Manager
for our growing team. The Employee Benefits Manager is responsible for structuring, integrating and managing the benefit and wellness programs for the family of DiGeronimo Companies which includes multiple companies across four states (Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Georgia). This position works with Company Executives to evaluate self-insured and fully-insured program options and designs quality benefits plans for employees in all locations and lines of business. The manager continually investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises benefits administration. The manager will also work with senior managers to develop and implement comprehensive compensation strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

A typical day looks like:
• Responsible for evaluating, designing, integrating and administering employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), health savings account, basic life/AD&D, disability and wellness for all DiGeronimo Companies. •Familiarity with and continued investment in the benefits market to determine employee needs, trends, regulations and practices. •Conduct Requests for Proposal (RFP) processes for Vendors for all lines of business. •Manage relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, and other vendors, ensuring high performance standards. •Develop and execute benefit program integration strategies for recently acquired companies. •Develop and implement communication strategies to promote and explain benefit offerings to candidates, new and existing employees and their dependents. •Review and revise all of the Company's SPDs at needed. •Manage all aspects of the open enrollment process. •Review both short and long-range cost estimates/projections and relevant statistical analyses regarding modifications in benefits programs and implementation of new programs. •Manage leave administration for FMLA, short-term disability and long-term disability. •Negotiate with vendors and administrators for best plans, options and rates. •Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. •Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. •Manage the administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes and the maintenance of employee benefits files/records and group benefits databases. •Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. •Collaborate with the payroll team regarding new enrollment deductions and missed deductions of employees out on leave. •Responsible for conducting monthly audit of plan participation and reconciliation of carrier billing. •Monitor benefit broker and insurance carriers' reports to ensure the organization's compliance with plan requirements. •Work with Senior Managers to develop and implement a comprehensive compensation program with strategies, structure and guidelines aligned with organizational objectives. •Conduct regular market analyses on jobs to ensure competitiveness and validate salary structures. •Collaborate with T&D team to provide guidance and process on pay-for-performance practices.
Do you have what it takes? •Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field. •5+ years of experience in Benefits Management across a multi-site organization. •3-5 years of experience administering compensation programs with a deep understanding of principles and regulations required. •3+ years of supervisory experience. •Extensive knowledge of Health and Welfare plans, Plan Designs, Retirement programs, and leave of absence programs. •Experience leading and executing Request for Proposal (RFP) processes with vendors. •Experience assessing and integrating multi-site healthcare vendors and programs. •Experience with third-party administered healthcare across multiple sites. •Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations/compliance requirements related to employee benefits. •Experience working with self-insured and fully insured plans preferred. •Proficiency utilizing a HRIS with benefits and compensation software. •Experience selecting and integrating with a new HRIS system preferred. •Experience with market analyses, salary surveys and data modeling to develop and implement informed compensation strategies. •Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment •Excellent verbal and written communications skills. •Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. •Excellent organizational and planning skills, and strong attention to detail. •Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. •Some domestic travel required.
