Peraton is seeking a
System Administrator
with SolarWinds experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual provide operational and Tier 2/3 support for the customer's SolarWinds platform. The SolarWinds administrator will be able to utilize the full capabilities of the tool to provide the engineering team and the customer accurate and clear insights of the environment.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Work directly with the System Admin and Network Team to support the operations and maintenance of the customer's environment.
Oversee the daily SolarWinds execution and maintain an expert view of the current IT infrastructure.Configure SolarWinds to meet the specific needs of the organization.Use SolarWinds to monitor the performance and availability of network and systems.Ensure the status of nodes within the platform is up to date by reviewing muted/unmanaged nodes and importing new nodes.Collaborate with the IT operations team to create reports and dashboards.Analyze the current environment for adherence to best practices and provide suggestions to improve platform utilization.Keep the platform updated with the latest SolarWinds releases.Document procedures and configurations in knowledgebase articles.Perform on-call duties as needed, including after-hours supportAct as point of escalation for any critical outages of the SolarWinds Monitoring System, including but not limited to, resolving availability issues, restoration of failed systems, and invoking disaster recovery procedures.Implement service improvements/enhancements using the full capabilities of SolarWinds, which include, but are not limited to, automation of routine activities, optimization of resources.#TSAImpactQualifications
Basic QualificationsBachelor degree and 2 years' experience or Associate degree and 4 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 6 years' experience.U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.Experience with Windows Server systems administration in both cloud and on-premises environments.Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.Experience with SolarWinds.Preferred QualificationsSolarWinds Certified Professional certification.Interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent teamwork skills.Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment.Ability to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter.
