Position Summary: The Business Development (BD) Associate will work in tandem with Technical Leads to orchestrate proposal development from pre-RFP planning to submission. This role will identify and track opportunities, liaise with partners, coordinate proposal inputs, draft proposal sections and manage proposal resources. This position will be a filled commensurate on experience. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Responsibilities: Manage the proposal process through all stages to ensure submission of high quality, compliant, and competitive proposals. Ensure compliance with MSI's proposal development policies and procedures. Organize and facilitate proposal development meetings. Participate in devising teaming strategies, determining teaming agreements and managing partner relationships. Disseminate data calls and organize necessary proposal inputs. Conduct research to inform proposal development strategy for specific opportunities and markets. Support development of graphic elements and produce final proposal for submission. Track client solicitations and business forecasts, staying current on international development trends, and maintain an awareness of the competitive landscape. Represent MSI at industry events and at partner meetings as needed. Write proposal sections including past performance references, CVs, corporate capability statements, management, and/or staffing sections as needed. Support improvement and maintenance of MSI's business development knowledge management systems. Facilitate oral presentation preparations, as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in international studies, business management, public administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum two years of total administrative experience with one year of experience working in business development, project management or other related fields required, preferably experience working on USG-funded proposals and/or projects. Experience in international work and/or travel preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience facilitating meetings. Ability to think critically, stay organized, leverage strong working relationships, and effectively prioritize to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe required. Fluency in English required. Knowledge of a foreign language preferred.
