In collaboration with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States we provide high-quality, patient centered health care. MAPMG physicians are salaried, without the pressures of alternative payment models or fee-for-services. Our members have easy access to specialists and medical records, thus allowing you to treat the whole patient.
What you can expect:
As an Ophthalmologist for MAPMG, you can expect:
To treat approximately 21 patients per day in 20-minute appointmentsTo spend approximately 2.5 days per month in the operating room (varies by patient load)A large patient population drawn from the tri-state areaAn opportunity to care for a wide variety of ophthalmology patientsSurgical cases only limited by experience and comfort levelCollaboration with subspecialists within Kaiser and in the Academic community
Minimum Requirements:
MD or DOBoard Certified or Eligible OphthalmologyCurrently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and VirginiaWork visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants

Practice patient-centered, culturally competent medical careCommunicate thoughtfully (listen, educate, advocate)Lead with integrityValue teamworkAre transparent and honestGo “above and beyond” for their patients

The starting annual salary for this position is $350,000 which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
Effective July 1, 2025, the starting annual salary for this position will increase to $400,000.
